Happy driving…

City prepares for eastbound offramp closure on SR-91 at La Sierra Avenue, May 6 – 16
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Drivers should plan alternate routes if they use the SR-91 freeway eastbound offramp at the La Sierra Avenue interchange starting at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 through 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 16. The continuous ramp closure is required to raise and realign the freeway ramp to the new bridge.
During the ramp closure, except between 10 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, between Magnolia and Indiana Avenues, La Sierra Avenue will remain open. The nighttime closure will allow transition of La Sierra Avenue traffic onto the new bridge. Delays are expected. If possible, drivers should use alternate routes, such as Tyler, Magnolia or Pierce Streets during the closures.
Beginning May 16, all new lanes of La Sierra across SR-91 will be open for traffic. Periodic daytime lane closures may be required.
All businesses will remain accessible.
The $38 million project to replace the existing La Sierra Avenue bridges over both the freeway and the railroad tracks with six-lane bridges will reduce traffic congestion. New dual left-turn lanes onto the freeway will make it easier for vehicles to access SR-91, while ramps will be widened from two to three lanes.
The project is expected to be complete by Summer 2009.
