Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration

Our Disneyland passes expired a few days ago, so we squeezed in two trips last week to catch the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration.

We haven’t been to Disneyland in a few months, so this is the first time we got to ride the newly refurbished Matterhorn and Soarin’ Over California. We also got to see the new fireworks show and the new Paint the Night Electrical Parade.

If you haven’t been on the Matterhorn since it reopened, you are in for a nice surprise. The new abominable snowman is awesome. I didn’t notice any changes (other than the exterior) to Soarin’ Over California, but I was told that new HD projectors have been added.

The Paint the Night Electrical Parade is shiny and new, but it just seems like a daytime parade with a bunch of lights. I prefer the old Electrical Parade.

  • Did you renew your passes? Ours expired in May and I just couldn’t bring myself to pay the new price.

    • No, we let them expire… at least for now.
