If you see smoke near Lake Mathews and Lake Hills, it is from the Lakepointe Fire. As of the time I am writing this, here is the most recent update from Riverside County Fire:
Update 6:20 p.m. – Fire is holding at approximately 125 acres and is now 40% contained. Full containment expected by midnight and full control is estimated for 5/28/2012 at 6:00 p.m.. No structures threatened or damaged, no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The incident report states that 4 helicopters, 7 air tankers, 13 engines and 150 firefighters have been assigned to fight this fire. Thank you to all of you.
